Checked out Today Online today after Lost- told me about an article about a maid cafe being opened in Singapore. It will be officially opened next month at Far East Shopping Centre. But first… TOO BAD TSUBAKI!!! Someone beat you to it!!!

Anyway, I’m still not sure if it’s a good idea. Wonder if they really did their homework and market research. From what I think, Singaporeans are NEVER good at service someway or another. So let’s see… The maids required are to be proficient in English, Japanese and Chinese. The cafe will have a Victorian theme and there might be a gothic corner. Hope they dress up like how Shion would. =X
Oh yeah, they might expand their service to include catering with a “Date with a Maid” feature, which I think it’s kinna cool, but maybe older generations might think it’s like going to a club and getting hostest to accompany you.
Firstly, I do hope the maids are good-looking, I mean, that is what everyone is going for. Of course we need different choices, such as hot girls, matured girls, and perhaps lolis? Maybe its about time Tsubaki step up and start a competition against them. From what I can see, perhaps not many people will know about it until some advertising is done. As for the location, I don’t really find it wise to have it there. I was hoping it would located near places where they have anime stuffs. We all know Cineleisure fails at that and places like Sunshine Plaza and Chinatown Square Central is the best place.
Damn it and its opened by 2 young girls! Julia Laurant, 21 and Ferlyn Tan, 16. Wow! You actually become a boss by the age of 16 which I was one. Hmm… I guess they are lucky to have someone to fund them actually.
Either ways, I’ll most probably go and attend the first opening day and do a review on it. So which guys are interested? YES! I’m organising another outing, to a maid cafe!!! Hmm, this would be something to keep an eye on still, even though tsubaki might not be the first - the response by the public would be useful in determining if specialised services like a maid cafe and related francises will be viable in S’pore.
Even if Tsubaki is changing target to something else, hopefully we can gain some useful information on what the anime public are more attuned to, and see if we can use it to our advantage.
