“Death Note 2: The Last Name” Review

After catching the first part of Death Note, I headed to the cinemas to watch the second part of it. The impression I had was much better when I first watched the first one. Not “elitists” this time round unlike the last time since people knew it was going to be somewhat different from the orginal manga and kept quiet.

Yes! More Misa this time round (I just love her!). The movie was straightforward and it wasn’t hard to understand too. Loads of suspense and thrill since I didn’t read the manga. Having one Death Note was troublesome and this time there’s more than one, be it real or fake. I just like the way their mind works and how they try to outwit each other. The ending was terrific too though they just ended it with only L and Light. No “N” or “M” were introduced.

Check out the sypnosis…

Light joins the task force searching for Kira in an effort to avert suspicion from himself and also, to get rid of L. The mystery deepens as another Death Note with its shinigami, is brought into the human world. A second and third Kira complicates the mystery. Making things even more unpredictable are the ‘Eyes of Death’, given to the second Kira, enabling the owner to know the true identity and lifespan of any person. Who would get hold of the ‘Trump Card’ which would determine the outcome of events? And who will be the Last name?

In the end, I left, feeling satisfied with the movie. Not going to spoil anything here. But trust me, it’s a good watch. <3 Misa!
