Lucky☆Star – つっぱしる女

Speedy Lady? Ok~ That was some direct translation. つっぱしる (Tsuppashiru) has a meaning of not thinking things through.
The first episode of Lucky Star was whacked. To be honest, I kind of got bored midway through the show and I had to stop. However, I managed to watch it again the next day and finished it. It’s wasn’t very entertaining, but they did loads of questions and answers that it made me ask myself too.

First question that was interesting is about the head of the choco crown. In my opinion it was the narrow end though.
Another interesting question is, are you the kind who saves the good stuff for last? Or you would go for it. And for me, I would usually save it for last. I tend to eat what I dislike the most and then enjoy the nice stuff later.

Of course there were nice parodies in the show. For this particular episode, the use of Street Fighter was used and Guile was used to potray the typical foreigner they have in mind. Somehow when you think of westerners, the best character in Street Fighter you would think of is Guile, don’t you think?

According to Aheda, this is one of the super old Street Fighter games where that particular background is the only map in the game. The animation of the game was also followed exactly.

Overall, it was somewhat interesting. The only thing that kept me going was Tsukasa. She’s so cute and I have a feeling that my lifestyle is gonna be something like hers.

I thought the first episode was a bit…dialouge heavy. Like, when the girls talked about how they ate certain types of food, I was like “Aaand exactly what does this have to do with the anime?” Oh well. No big matter there.
Gotta say one thing though: Most people compare it to Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu, but this rather gives off a feel as one I got from Azumanga Daioh. The fact that this anime was adapted from a yon-koma manga also helps in that matter. ^^
All in all, a cute enjoyable series with lots of humor and MOE~ aspects. ^___^
