Been reading up on this topic for quite some time, but have not really seem any “big” action except for those postings on the blog.

Has anyone know of friends who got “caught”? No one seem to write any more update on this as well.

Even if they do, it’d have to be after they find you by IP monitoring over p2p networks. A log with unknown p2p user IPs won’t make sense. ISP IP logs don’t contain any actual information packets that’s sent or received. In other words, they can’t find out what you’re downloading/uploading, only which IPs you’ve contacted in the process. The information transfered may or may not violate copyrights. The only way to find out what you’re downloading/sharing is by earsdropping within whatever p2p framework being used using another IP address.

Oh, one thing, they get your ISP to give you up, basically blocking monitoring won’t help much.

The monitoring IPs are usually listed under individual companies or government agencies whose networks are being used rather than the proper name of the organizations.

How useful are these IP blockers anyway? I searched through their entire P2P list, and the only one i found that might catch you for something was the IDA. No AVPAS, ODEX or RIAS.

And when you watch streaming videos they are downloaded into your temporary internet files folder, and are deleted when you close the window. I don’t know if that is considered illegal as well, but I don’t see how they are going to track that anyway.

A simple IP blocker should do the trick. IP lists are updated on a daily basis, so it should include even the newest sat up monitoring IPs.

I’m guessing they can just hand you over to the authorities for those series’ that are not on their list.
