Otakus Guide To Chara Fest 2007
Yes! Most of us would have know this by now. Chara Fest will be held on 25th August 2007! So what to expect from this event and what should you, customers, do to be prepared on this day?
About Chara Fest
Chara Fest is an annual event by KKnM which began in 2004 (somewhat by accident). It is a one day event where various goods ranging from event/shop exclusive to normal major summer release in Japan are released and sold. This year, KKnM is proud to provide some items from 2 major events held recently in Japan; Comiket 72 and C3XHobby.
An Event?
As the event is held at KKnM, please do not expect it to be an event like Cosfest. There will be no exhibitions & performances, and cosplaying is discouraged (since there were cosplayers who thought that it was a cosplay event -.-”). Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
What Is On Sale?
Basically products from Comiket 72 and C3XHobby that are special edition or event exclusive will be on sale. Dun fret! Normal goods are also on sales on that day, so those who aren’t keen and rich enough to get the exclusive stuff can still get the other normal stuff. I’ve actually checked out what are the stuff being released and I have my own requested items to collect, so I’m also very eager to get them. That aside, you can view the list of items being released here! Chara Fest Releases! Or you can feel free to print out a list to help you with checking!
So What Time Does The Event Start?
It will be open to public at 1200hr. Members of KKnM get to gain entrance to this event at 1100hr.
What Do We Do There?
Well~ Obviously, you grab on tight on your wallets and purses and get them ready to go for a diet. It will be done in a organised way. You’ll need to queue up and when it’s your turn, you get to browse around at the counter and pick what you want. Be considerate and try not to take your own sweet time though. There should be several catalogues being passed around while you’re in the queue.
Any tips?
You can try to head down early to camp outside, but be wary of the security guards since they will chase you away. And since members get to access before the non-members, I guess non-members need not have to camp at all. As for the members (Well~ there aren’t many members in the first place… So…), good luck on camping! Just a note, non-members are strictly not allowed to enter when the time is not scheduled to do so, and don’t think of sneaking in. The owner of the shop knows her members well! =)
Members can try to camp a few hours before the event. Do try to stay out of sight of the security guards. Be sure to being some food and water so that you won’t go hungry and thirsty. Getting some people to camp with you would be good too. Oh yeah~ You could get a mat to sit on while waiting and try to keep yourself entertain by bringing some entertainment. Of course, if you’re camping outside of the shop, please do stay in an orderly line to refrain any conflicts and such. Then again, members get to enter first so I guess non-members don’t have to bother. For those who are, be friendly and nice! We’re all here to enjoy this event.

Yeah, you don’t want to end up like me.
Last time I ‘camped’ outside for the annual year-end sale, I got caught with my pants down (figuratvely, of course). Depleted GBASP and no food =
