Meeting The Japanese Exchange Student, Sayaka

For the first time, I actually spent time with a Japanese that I didn’t know and showed her around Singapore together with Windbell and Kaori. Sadly, I only spent time with them on the first day and not the second since I had work and some family matters to settle. =/
Anyway, here’s my experience with them on Day 1. You can view the rest over at Windbell’s site. Thanks to Windbell for the photos too.
Spent my time at KKNM that afternoon and was told that stalkers were there since noon asking if I would be coming. Quite glad that I turned up later, so guys, sorry about that! Ok, that aside. =/
Headed to Orchard MRT in the evening to meet up with Windbell and waited for the 2 girls: Kaori and our Japanese exchange student, Sayaka. Sayaka is a first year Nursing student from a University in Tokyo and she is here on an exchange program. Sayaka will be staying at Kaori’s place for this short period of time.
They arrived and we headed to Food Republic for dinner. Well~ More like Kaori was the only one eating and Windbell sat there with a growling stomach since he was more worried on how to communicate with Sayaka since we have a communication barrier between us.
After dinner, we headed to Takashimaya and somewhat got led into Kinokuniya. Sayaka did express that she loves manga and likes to draw too. She mentioned that the Kinokuniya in Tokyo is something like Singapore’s one except that their shore is as big as 4 stories high. I need to go there sometime just to take a look.
Headed to the basement and Sayaka tried our local “taiyaki” with Kaya as the filling. We suggested that she tried it since it’s something you don’t really get to taste over in Japan. She thinks that the Kaya is delicious as she responded with 「おいしい!」. We also bumped into umehiko, Xak and jinyamato.
We took a picture before we left too.
We then decided to take a bus to Esplanade to enjoy the sights there. Sayaka was quite excited since it was her first time taking a double-decker bus. I didn’t expect that this simple bus ride would be something enjoyable for Sayaka.
Upon reaching Esplanade we took pictures, enjoyed the view at the rooftop. It was quite windy so it felt great. Windbell tried to take a picture which turned out pretty well.
We stayed for awhile, chatted a bit and went to visit the Merlion, located in front of The Fullerton. Nice shot of the Merlion by Windbell.
We separated after that and I headed to Cosafe to meet up with some people to get some nice goodies which I’ll reveal soon. =)
