I haven’t been watching Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Kai lately so I went to finish up Minagoroshi-hen. Eager to check out the preview… I went to their official website… and I saw this…

「ひぐらしのなく頃に解」放送休止に関しまして
いつもＴＶアニメーション「ひぐらしのなく頃に解」を ご視聴頂きまして、誠に有難うございます。
先日より斧や鉈を使った痛ましい事件が相次いでいる事情があり、
一部の報道において、アニメやゲームが与える影響を取り沙汰されるといった状況がございます。委員会としましては、一連の事件と「ひぐらしのなく頃に」という作品には
現時点までに何ら関連性が認められていないこと、また、
「ひぐらしのなく頃に」という作品を通して、我々が伝えたいメッセージが
殺人や傷害を全否定するものであることを含め、
放送続行について、各放送局へ繰り返し交渉を続けて参りましたが、 誠に残念ながら
放送局側の判断により、テレ玉での放送は10月1日（月）をもって休止となってしまいました。原作者である竜騎士07先生や今監督を始め、すべてのスタッフが一所懸命制作している
大切な作品を、このようなかたちで皆様にお見せできなくなってしまうのは
誠に遺憾ではありますが、放送に理解を示して下さっている放送局がある限り、
今後も「ひぐらし」という作品を皆様に理解して頂けるよう、放送は必ず続けて参ります。最後になりましたが、放送が見られなくなってしまう皆様へのご対応について
現在、委員会内で善後策を検討しております。
近日中にお知らせできるかと存じますので、少々お待ち頂ければ幸いです。今後とも、ＴＶアニメーション「ひぐらしのなく頃に解」を、宜しくお願い申し上げます。

ひぐらしのなく頃に解製作委員会
And so the show is now canceled. Thanks to all the recent murder cases and such. This results in a ban of the show. The anime had nothing to do with sheer violence as its theme and had no intention of encouraging it either. Currently the producers are discussing on plans in resolving this issue. I do hope that it does get aired somehow or at least have it released in DVD in the near future.
My japanese isn’t terrific but it applies to Teletama. But I fear that it will soon be applied to other stations, かな かな?

I can’t believe they banned it, yet they still release more gorey horror movies, which are 10 times worse than Higukai was, I don’t understand this.
Kids are going to chop off their parent’s heads, regardless of this show or not.
I watch violent stuff, and it doesn’t make me want to kill someone. If I ever killed someone, I wouldn’t rely on a show for tips, that’s for sure.

The notice only specifies Tele-Tama’s (TV Saitama’s) broadcast being cancelled. We still have AT-X, so there’s no need to worry.
