A review about an artist that draws stuff that makes mine looks like crap compared to her. Known as pixel phantom.

Her site can be found here . Currently she’s releasing a manga called 「エアリセ」 or ‘EARTH’, which have a beautiful cover but also awesome art inside.

Anyway the book is available at Kinokuniya and I am not sure if there are translation for it yet. Please SNATCH it when you see it ^^.

I believe that the program she used is Photoshop CS3. One unique thing about her art is the way she cg the hair. Most of the time her character’s hair is always shine from beneath so to create a more unique glow and soft look. Of cos she play around with colors a lot like the hair from the top purple to red and then to yellow. In this way the cg won’t look ‘boring’ but instead it looks striking and colorful. The colors she used are also very vibrant and high saturation. As you can see from the video she did a lot of color balance to make sure the colors fit. To do CG like her, you need to know that to do shading for a hair is not using darker or lighter colors all the time, but also need to mutate the color a bit so it will look different than other regular cg.
