TVU Player
I know some of you might be sick of waiting for fansubs animes and are awaiting for raws instead but at time, you feel impatient too. Well, guess what? Now, you can stream TV channels from Japan on your computer so that you can actually watch them live! In fact, you can watch TV channels from all over the world (that is if it’s provided) and you have one more entertainment on your computer to keep you from being bored! Presenting to you TVU player!
Firstly, go and download the TVU here!
Install the program. After you finish with the installation, run TVU and you’ll the follow interface as displayed above. As you can see, it displays all the channels that are available on the right hand side.
To filter to the Japanese channel, simply change the language to Japansese
Upon selecting Japanese, the right side will display the channels available. Just click on the channel that u want to view, wait for it to load and there you have it!
Most of this season’s more popular animes are on TBS Channel, where you have shows like Macross Frontier, Code Geass R2, ToLoveRu, XXXHolic: Kei, etc. In fact, older shows like CLANNAD, Gundam00 and others were shown on TBS when they were will airing
It would be good if you refer to the official site of the shows to check out the timeslots. For me, I usually refer to mahou Showtime!
Since tonight is the night where many of this season’s show are going to air, I’m going to try and see if I can catch it live. Hope you guys will enjoy this application! In fact, hopefully I can improve my Japanese a bit more by watching more.

This is interesting, to say the least. But I don’t understand Japanese and I have a bad Internet connection, so … I’ll pass.
Thanks for the heads-up, though.

Ever since the Odex saga, I’ve been reading up on content distribution and control by big conglomerates, and it’s initiatives like TVU Networks that have been piping up my interests. I firmly support the disintegration of repressive and unconsumer-friendly business practices in favour of democratization of the consumers’ ability to watch what they want, where they want, whenever they want. [/dilbert]
[otaku]Nice up, bj0rN! V(^;^)V [/otaku]
[thepiratebay]Ups for you, bj0rN.[/thepiratebay]
For me, I’ll enjoy the free offer, until some other big companies decide to shut down TVU Networks.

I went to the site, browsed the TV Guide and found some channel named “AutoCAD 2006 Tutorial” lol. Cool concept, Joost should do something similar since they have buku $$

Macross also airs at TBS but 1 day after MBS airs it, so might as well grab the raws.

I was using a program called SOPCast, and it had live NTV, Fuji TV, and TV Asahi. Awesome channels them… until it went down. BOO.
I’m actually surprised TVU Player is still alive, but their streaming channels rapidly change as I noticed last year. You gotta hate it when you come to like some un-torrented Japanese show over there then some nut decides to turn off the channel streaming forever.

Is this different than KeyHoleTV? KeyHoleTV is another program that streams Japanese TV live, but I haven’t heard very much hype about it, even though it’s been around for a while now. Anyone know about it?

Thank god!!! Very good news indeed!
April 28th, 2008 at 0:32

I can’t watch any channels and i can’t select japanese either….there’s just some list of crappy TV channels which can’t be watched
Are there any other steps?
